If you’re constantly stumped over this question, or you find yourself wondering what’s next every now and then, you may want to follow the leadings of tradition. As far back as the 4th century, Christians mark off the end of yuletide twelve nights after the D-day—call it the eve of epiphany if you wish to.

Epiphany simply refers to when Jesus received gifts and was visited (think the wise men!). It is marked either on the fifth day or sixth of January, depending on when you count as day one.

Usually, folks disagree on which date is right, but you can be sure tradition never disappoints. Traditionally, no time is better than the twelfth day to take down your Christmas ornaments, including the trees. It is common knowledge that delay causes mishap, so you may want to stay safe.

Of course, your convenience is also a factor. While deciding when to take down those junks and pieces, consider when you are most fit.
